Major Activities

 

The Sindh Agriculture Recovery Program is being implemented by SRSO with the support of USAID and Sindh Abadgar Board (SAB) through RSPN in Jacobabad, Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Larkana, Thatta, Dadu districts.
This program aims to provide agriculture support for cultivation of sunflower on 101,150 acres of land in Sindh and targeted 50,576 beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries are flood affected farmers with 1-20 acres of cultivable land and the support provided includes sunflower seeds, fertilizers and mechanical and technical support along with market linkages in order to support their livelihood.

Farmers will also be provided with:

  • Training on the sowing, growing, harvesting and post-harvesting processes
  • Tractors for land preparation
  • Threshers and other equipment for harvesting
  • Cash for work to rehabilitate watercourses
The agri-input support includes:
  • sunflower seed 2 kg,
  • One bag of DAP, two bags of Urea (50kg) per acre,
  • Cash support for on-farm harvesting and threshing activities.
Dry Food distributed comprising wheat (50kg-80 Kgs), cooking oil (4.5 Kgs) and high energy biscuits (2.25 Kgs) , Sugar (4 Kgs), tea (0.3 Kgs), pulses (8 Kgs), spices (1 Kg), RUSF (1.5 Kgs), and in some cases 100 Kg Rice in replacement of flour package per Household.
