Major Activities

 

  • The British Government through the Department for International Development (DFID) has approved an emergency relief and early recovery project to meet the needs of flood affected communities in 8 districts of Sindh i.e; Kashmore-Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Jacobabad , Shahdadkot & Larkana.
  • SRSO provided services to a total of 61,344 households and 429,408 people in flood affected operational districts of Sindh and supported for early recovery needs.
  • The Komak Project has two objectives:

    1. To meet the immediate water, sanitation, hygiene and shelter needs of flood affected communities in target districts
    2. To meet the early recovery needs (water and food security) of flood affected communities in target districts.

  • The project activities included provision of:

    clean water kits,
    hand pumps,
    hygiene kits,
    pit latrines,
    medicated mosquito nets,
    emergency shelters,
    animal food supplements, and
    conducting hygiene promoting awareness sessions.
