SRSO realizes its responsibility and commitment to serve the poor community. Hence it has established a full fledged Social Services Sector to deliver the social sector service. 

Ø      The sector is presently focusing on health and education services under the strategies mutually developed by SRSO and RSPN hired consultants. It is focused to implement strategy recommended by the consultant. 

Ø      In health, currently the strategy of bringing ‘behavioral change’ in rural female is being pursued. The main objectives of the strategy are: 

1.      Personal health care

2.      Domestic hygienic environment

3.      Mother & Child health care

4.      Full participation in EPI 

A series of workshops have been organized participated by female community organization members of a village, followed by formation of implementation committee comprising one female for each five households to continue interaction with individual females. Experts belonging to line departments/NGOs are engaged as resource persons.

 

Ø      In education, the strategy focuses on increasing the literacy rate of female adults in the rural areas. Thus an agreement has been reached with NCHD to expand the network of Adult Literacy Centers in SRSO operational areas. SRSO will mobilize it female community organization members to join the centers and then collaborate with NCHD to establish the ALCs where ever the need is identified.
