About SRSO

Established in 2003, the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) is the major Rural Support Programme in Southern Sindh. It is a not-for-profit organization registered under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984. SRSO is present in 9 districts, namely Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Naushero Feroz, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Kashmore-Kandhkot, and Qambar-Shadadkot .The mandate of SRSO is to alleviate poverty by harnessing the people’s potential and to undertake development activities in Sindh.

Relief & Rehabilitation Activities for the Flood Affected Communities in Upper Sindh

 It was August 7th 2010 breach of Torri caused heavy devastation in northern part of Sind. Flood inundated more than seven districts of Sindh. As it was the unusual flood that brought people on the roads, and washed away their belongings, livestock and their Serial foods for their survival. People became shelterless as their shelters either destroyed or are inundated under heavy flood.

The flood water has devastated completely more than 11000 villages in the Kacha and surrounding area displaced more than 213,000 households from their villages along with 1,065,000 numbers of livestock.....        Read more....

Union Council Based Poverty Reduction Program Shikarpur, Kandhkot & Jacobabad

The Union Council Based Poverty Reduction Programme (UCBPRP) is a pioneering initiative of the SRSO and the Government of Sindh, for reducing poverty. The prime objective of this programme is to improve the living standard of communities in the said area, based upon the social mobilization approach, supplemented by a number of interventions. It was initiated on the 1st of February 2009 in 2 districts of Sindh, namely Kashmore and Shikarpur, for the duration of  30 months and now..... ,

Completion Report of State Land to Landless Harees Project. (A Project by Govt of Sindh)

 

 
  • Village Rehabilitation Program has been initiated for Reconstruction & Rehabilitation of 7,000 houses in 43 Villages at Shikarpur, Kashmore and Jacobabad.
  •  
     
  • The Livelihood Enhancement & Protection (LEP) project has been implemented in three Union Councils (Bago Daho, Bereri & Ali Bagh) of Ghotki district. The duration of project is for two (02) years.
  •  
     
  • "Scaling-up rural sanitation for child protection and survival through WASH intervention" a joint collaboration with NRSP, Plan-International & UNICEF in district Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shahdadkot, Sukkur and Ghotki;
  •  
     
  • POLIO Project initiated in district Ghotki, Larkana and Jacobabad.
  •  
     
  • Union Council based Poverty Reduction Program has been initiated in 5 UCs of district Sukkur.
